Beauty by the Seashore: Dead Sea Salts and Seaweed

Ciao bella,

Your healthy tan may be gone and your skin irritations disappeared from dipping in the ocean but the beauty and health properties of the beach can still be found at your local health store.

DEAD SEA SALTS: Salts contain a wide variety of minerals that are present in high concentration. Regular sea salts are made up of more than 90% sodium; Dead Sea Salts contain only about 10% sodium and the rest are minerals such as magnesium, potassium, bromine, calcium, etc.

Dead Sea Salts are only found in one place—the DEAD SEA; which is located between Israel, Jordan, and the West bank.

It is the deepest hypersaline lake in the world. The waters of the Dead Sea are unique in their healing and beauty properties.

The total salt concentration is 10 times higher than ocean water. Known to contain minerals present in salt that are also naturally occurring in human skin cells. These skin cells often get depleted, causing dry, dull skin and wrinkle development. Dead Sea Salts deposit these minerals back into the skin cells. A fountain of youth to help skin feel younger and smoother. The salts also have been known for their therapeutic properties such as relieving skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and acne.

The Dead Sea’s mineral rich waters—and the bi-products of the water—have a noticeable effect on human skin. Also known to have an effect on circulation and metabolism as well. Magnesium is important for combating fluid retention and slow aging. Calcium helps prevent water retention, increasing circulation and strengthening bones and nails.

Potassium energizes the body, balancing skin moisture and a most important mineral to replenish following intense exercise.

Bromides act to ease muscle stiffness and relax muscles. Sodium is key for the lymphatic fluid balance.

Next Stop—The DEAD SEA, but if you can’t make it there you can find the Dead Sea Salts at your local health food store.

There are hand and body creams, scrubs, masks and bath soaks for at home treatments containing the therapeutic qualities of their Dead Sea Salts.

Stay tuned for more “Beauty by the Seashore” when I’ll present the beauty benefits of “Seaweed.”

Buona giornata and God bless the United States of America!
